John Griffths and his friend Karl Cinnamond swapped their business suits for Victorian-style bathing suits at 10:30am on 25th December as they plunged into Blackroot Pool, Sutton Park to raise funds for charity.
John Griffiths explains: “I became aware of the Starlight Children’s Foundation recently, which has the objective of making terminally and seriously unwell children’s wishes come true. I thought this was a really worthy cause and suggested to my friend Karl Cinnamond that it made complete sense to dive into a cold and murky pool and support the charity.” Karl Cinnamond, General Sales Manager for Sytner BMW in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter, says: “We have set ourselves a joint target of £1,000. People we have been talking to think that we are mad, but we are both parents and we can’t begin to imagine what it must be like for the families of those poor children so we thought we would do our bit.”
