chris_tidswell_w400Chris Tidswell has joined Public Sector Consultants as Assistant Chief Executive (Consulting). Chris will work as part of Service Management, broadening the range and depth of services that we provide to our local government and health service clients.

Chris joined us from PwC prior to which he worked in consultancy and IT organisations providing a wide range of professional services to the public sector. Most recently he has been working with Birmingham City Council on their Adults and Communities Transformation programme as lead advisor on the development of solutions for this Directorate.

Chris is a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance & Accountancy and is an active member of CIPFA both regionally and nationally, being a former Chairman & President of the North West & North Wales Society and in addition, he is Consultant Editor of the CIPFA Spreadsheet magazine.

Chris has over 25 years experience working in the public sector as both practitioner for and advisor to local authorities, the NHS and government departments. As an advisor, Chris has spent much of his time working with senior management teams to support organisational review, development and change; in many cases this was as a consequence of the need to meet legislative, financial or political initiatives. Also, Chris was seconded to the Department of Health to help with the introduction of Foundation Trusts.

Chief Executive Stephen Prince said “With Chris on board we will be able to meet more of our clients´ needs in keeping with our strategic aim of providing a comprehensive range of support services to the public sector.”

Chairman David Poynton added “Our ability to attract high calibre consultants from the big firms shows how far we´ve come and our ambitions for the future.”
