Public Sector Consultants celebrated their move to new offices earlier this year, at a party held on Saturday 3 September 2005. Over 100 people participated in the grand opening in a marquee in the Company’s grounds. The Company’s staff and partners, together with suppliers, clients and special guests were fed, watered and entertained and they all toasted the Company’s success. Mrs Jane Grice and son Gage revealed the plaque.
"I was delighted to be asked to formally open Public Sector Consultants' new offices at Barry Grice House”, said Chesterfield MP Paul Holmes before cutting the ribbon. “They began life just 5 years ago in the Innovation Centre near to my former home at Tapton. As one of the fastest growing companies in Europe they have expanded to new custom built premises a few hundred yards away from where I now live near Chesterfield town centre. These are exactly the type of high quality companies and jobs that are increasingly making their home in Chesterfield to take advantage of Chesterfield’s excellent position - geographically central, excellent road and rail communications and sited within easy reach of many major cities and of the Peak District National Park too. I wish Public Sector Consultants every success as they continue to flourish and expand."
The Company was established by Stephen Prince, to ‘give the public sector the services it was entitled to’. The core activity is providing interim management and consultancy services to local government finance departments. Turnover in year 5 reached £6m.
“The professional support we have received from our solicitors, accountants, interior designers, IT & telecommunications provider and from Martin Turner, our bank manager, has been invaluable in making the move go smoothly. In addition our Office Manager Angela Shawcroft has worked determinedly over the last year to ensure that we have a professional working environment of the right quality” said the Chief Executive Stephen Prince. “The new offices are named in memory of a Public Sector Consultants manager who passed away in November 2003. His loyalty and devotion to the Company and his family were immeasurable” Stephen added.
Company Chairman Eleanor Kelly summed up the day by saying "It was a very special event, celebrating not just the continuing success of Public Sector Consultants, but also toasting the Council for the start they gave us in Tapton Park Innovation Centre and reaffirming our commitment to the area. Barry Grice House is designed to see us through the next phase in the growth of our company, and we are extremely pleased to now have a headquarters of our own"
