John Birch, formerly of Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club, has a vision to evolve a school of excellence for junior cricketers in the Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Lincolnshire areas. This is being established at the end of the 2010 season with extensive training taking place throughout the winter months primarily at the Trent Bridge indoor facility and Trent College outdoor floodlit complex.
Going around the country, it is impressive to see the resolve of local government directors of finance and senior staff as they confront the challenges prior to the comprehensive spending review. No LGC reader will be untouched by the consequences of the review.
